RACE CANCELLATION NOTICE

The Sierra Nevada Dog Drivers regrets to announce the cancellation of the race.  Safety of the canine athletes is always our primary objective.  After careful assessment of trail characteristics, current conditions and projected weather, we found that we could not ensure our ability to conduct the race on the scheduled date in a manner that would guarantee safety for both the dogs and mushers.  We appreciate the planning, operational support and wonderful venue that were offered to us by Sugar Bowl Resort and Royal Gorge XC.  We also appreciate the response from the many people of the local community who volunteered to help conduct the race; and, acknowledge and thank the following businesses that generously offered their support:
WellPet/Eagle Pack Dog Food, North Lake Tahoe Resort Assoc., Sierra Pet Clinic, Mark Tanner Construction, Mountain Home Center, Don's Welding, Stone's Tire, B&B Plumbing, The Real Graphic Source, Pet Station and Branded Screen Printing.


The race, organized by the Sierra Nevada Dog Drivers, was scheduled to have been conducted on March 2-3, 2013 at Royal Gorge XC, Soda Springs, CA, a few miles west of Truckee.
